Friday Night Art Club

This autumn, we've got you and your young artist covered for Friday evenings! Each week, our buzzing artist colony will make a seasonal art project (for example, an owl collage), have dinner (Mici's pizza, fruit, veggies, dessert and water), and have some play time.<br><br>Time: 5:30-8:00 p.m.<br>Ages 8-14<br><br>3-6 students: meet at The French flat with keri, former dps art teacher-more info 48 hrs prior to class).<br>7-15 students: meet at Neighborhood art studio with MS. KERI and an assistant for attentiove art instruction-more info 48 hrs prior to class.<br><br>We will let you know 48 hours prior to each class where it will be held: with three-six students, it will be held at The French Flat Art Studio. Mill Valley "En Plein Air" Art Camp – November Break 2026

We begin with learning the elements of landscape art with gesture drawings and thumbnail sketches, exploring line, shape, and value. We’ll take a nature walk, sketch our surroundings, and learn about the horizon, foreground, middle ground, and background. We'll include a petite picnic (please let us know of any food allergies), and all supplies are included. 1420's Mound - 10 ft | 4x10, 3 ft crown

Don't garden like it's 2026--garden like it's 1426! This aint your grandma's garden--this is your great, great, great, great, great, great, great.... grandpa's garden! This supposedly works to keep gardens healthy in the Swiss Alps at freezing temps and high altitude... also accounting for our xeriscape drought conditions. All built in your yard by The French Flat out of your own trees. <br><br>THERE's NO BOX, AND THERE IS NO DUMP RUN. We open eighteen inches of ground. We cut back your overgrown trees and lay that wood into the hole. Then the clay that came out goes back in - broken up, blended with compost and packed around the wood - and whatever the mound cannot hold becomes the berm beside it.<br><br>OPEN EIGHTEEN INCHES OF GROUND, MOUND 36" UP. EVERYTHING THAT COMES OUT GOES BACK IN. 4 1/2 of working profile, three feet of it above ground. No walls, no corners, nothing to replace in eight years - there is nothing above ground but soil.<br><br>NOTHING LEAVES. NOTHING NEW.<br>Not one wheelbarrow goes off your property. Private & Small Group Atelier

Welcome to our "atelier", where DPS art teacher of 12 years, Keri Deixler instructs and 75 minutes of focused, private (or small group) art lessons at your home, our home/garden studio, or at another location (library, Stanley Marketplace, at a park...).<br>We'll focus on basic techniques in drawing, painting, and hand molding. Also available: cursive and literacy tutoring. Please inquire about groups of up to 8 kids in an outdoor Central Park location! Includes all materials. Personalized Portrait

I will work through the process with you, starting with a photo that you provide, either a hard copy, text, or email. I begin by sketching, then adding acrylic paint, and finish painting with oil. When I'm close to completing your portrait, I'll send you photo updates, so that you may critique (you know the features of the person in the photo!), until we're both satisfied with the result. You may choose a background and a color palette. Also available in other mediums, and please email keri@thefrenchflat.com to discuss.<br>Pricing reflects one person. Additional charges may apply.
